From Hamburg we're welcoming EL SATÁNICO CUMBIÓN. The group is inspired by the cumbia rebajada from Monterrey and makes their own type of hypnotic dark cumbia. Visitors will see a different side of Alex Figueira when he returns to Rotterdam under the guise of EL TERROR DEL MAMBO. And there's a first-time collaboration between Guatemalan artist DAGG3R and LOS DOOOMBIAMBEROS. EL JAVIER_B Y SU RASPADUB complements the line-up with an acid melange of cumbia and vinyl. Furthermore, CUMBIA PRINTS will bring a new selection of cumbia-inspired shirts. And in case you get lost: DR. DOOOMBIA will show you the way as your host this evening.

After the live performances, we continue until 4am with a cumbia club night. Expect some explosive tunes from ALEX FIGUEIRA, who will play records from his vast vinyl collection. DR. CALAVERA will bring some Mexican sounds to the dance floor, while the duo of CUMBIA / PERREO PRINTS close down the night with an explicit set.

EL SATÁNICO CUMBIÓN

After a memorable midnight session during the festival Cinema Colombiano 2022, our friends from Hamburg return to Rotterdam, but this time with their full line-up! El Satánico Cumbión is an hypnotic stoner cumbia sound system, founded in 2019. Their sound is influenced by the slowed-down cumbia (cumbia rebajada) movement from Monterrey, Mexico, mixed with drones and experimental sounds. The group has gained popularity across Hamburg and beyond for their dynamic live shows, catchy rhythms and vibrant stage presence, turning the night into an inferno-shamanistic experience.

The latest solo incursion of Tropical music maverick, Alex Figueira; delving into the annals of electronic music, with the same adventurous, experimental and irresistibly groovy approach of his many other projects (Fumaça Preta, Conjunto Papa Upa, Lola’s Dice, Alex Figueira solo).

Combining the most obscure and improbable samples from his extensive record collection, unusually syncopated drum machine patterns and a vast plethora of synth noises with hedonistic, sinful and occultist lyrics - sometimes whispered, sometimes screamed - Figueira’s new musical incarnation will take you to a dark place, where you will feel equally drawn to and scared by. A place where all your musical preconceptions will be torn apart, after being exposed to the truly unutterable rhythms that will come out of his laptop.

Calavera is a musical explorer, curator and artist. For more than 10 years, he has been DJ-ing and organizing parties with Cumbia im Viertel in Hamburg. This night he will do a live set with his own music.

Cumbia Prints are Pedro and Lucia, who not only create prints inspired by Latin culture in Hamburg, but also deliver a high energy DJ-set blending cumbia and perreo music.

Desde Hamburgo damos la bienvenida a EL SATÁNICO CUMBIÓN. El grupo se inspira en la cumbia rebajada de Monterrey y hace su propio tipo de cumbia oscura e hipnótica. Los visitantes del evento descubrirán un lado diferente de Alex Figueira cuando regrese a Rotterdam como EL TERROR DEL MAMBO. Y tendremos una colaboración especial entre la artista guatemalteca DAGG3R con LOS DOOOMBIAMBEROS. EL JAVIER_B Y SU RASPADUB complementa el cartel con una mezcla ácida de cumbia y vinilo. Después de las presentaciones en vivo, continuamos hasta las 4 am con una noche de club cumbiera. Tendremos un set explosivo de ALEX FIGUEIRA, quien pinchara discos de su inmensa colección de vinilos. DR. CALAVERA brindará un set en vivo y agregará un sabor mexicano a la pista de baile y el dúo de CUMBIA / PERREO PRINTS cerrará la noche con un set explícito.

El Satánico Cumbión es un hipnótico sistema de sonido de cumbia fumeta, fundado en 2019. Su sonido está influenciado por el movimiento de cumbia rebajada de Monterrey, México, mezclado con drones y sonidos experimentales. El grupo ha ganado popularidad por sus dinámicos shows en vivo, ritmos pegadizos y vibrante presencia en el escenario, convirtiendo la noche en una experiencia infernal-chamanística.

Aclamados nada más y nada menos que por Iván Medellín (Conjunto Media Luna, Romperayo) como los instigadores de la doombia, Los Dooombiamberos están listos para abrir esta edición inaugural de DooombiaFest. Para esta ocasión especial, el trío de cumbia experimental se une a Dagg3r desde Guatemala.

El viento era feroz, aullaba como un alma en pena... Dagg3r comenzó su viaje experimental hace más de 10 años. Primero sin apodo, luego como Prophetiae Sibyllarum: un proyecto que resume su camino a través del dolor, la reclusión y la depresión. Este proyecto se quedó dormido, dando espacio a la furiosa alma en pena que es Dagg3r, que grita con todo su corazón mientras recibe a la Muerte como una compañera eterna. Es la sombra que sigue.

El ruido del drone nigromante de Dagg3r se mezclará con los ritmos lentos de cumbia de Los Dooombiamberos, quienes traen al escenario sus propios instrumentos tradicionales y DIY. Esta colaboración demuestra ser una apertura ardiente y ritualista para DooombiaFest.

La última incursión solista del inconformista de la música tropical, Alex Figueira; profundizando en las crónicas de la música electrónica, con el mismo enfoque aventurero, experimental e irresistiblemente groovy de sus muchos otros proyectos (Fumaça Preta, Conjunto Papa Upa, Lola’s Dice, Alex Figueira solo).

Combinando los samples más oscuros e improbables de su extensa colección de discos, patrones de caja de ritmos inusualmente sincopados y una gran plétora de ruidos de sintetizador con letras hedonistas, pecaminosas y ocultistas (a veces susurradas, a veces gritadas), la nueva encarnación musical de Figueira te llevará a un lugar oscuro donde te sentirás igualmente atraído y asustado. Un lugar donde todos tus preconceptos musicales quedarán destrozados, tras haber sido expuesto a los ritmos verdaderamente indescriptibles que saldrán de su portátil.

Hailed by none other than Iván Medellín (Conjunto Media Luna, Romperayo) as the instigators of doombia, Los Dooombiamberos are set to open this inaugural edition of DooombiaFest. For this special occasion, the experimental cumbia trio are teaming up with Dagg3r from Guatemala.

The wind was fierce, howling like a banshee it was... Dagg3r started their experimental journey over 10 years ago. First without a moniker, then as Prophetiae Sibyllarum: a project that encapsuled their path through grief, selfreclusion and depression. This project went to sleep, giving space to the raging banshee that is Dagg3r - screaming their heart out while welcoming Death as an eternal companion. It is the shadow that follows.

Dagg3r's necromancer drone noise will blend with the slowed down cumbia rhythms of Los Dooombiamberos, who bring their own traditional and DIY instruments to the stage. This collab proves to be a fiery and ritualistic opener to DooombiaFest.

Calavera es un explorador musical, curador y artista. Desde hace más de 10 años actúa como DJ y organiza fiestas con Cumbia im Viertel en Hamburgo. Esta noche hará un set en vivo con su propia música.

Cumbia Prints son Pedro y Lucía, quienes no solo crean estampados inspirados en la cultura latina en Hamburgo, sino que también ofrecen un DJ-set de alta energía que mezcla cumbia y perreo.

Luego de pasar incontables horas bajo las catacumbas de Radio Worm escuchando a los Misfits, Dorindo Cárdenas y Chúpame el Dedo; El pequeño Javi decidió masticar un viaje de güira lisérgica para explorar lo que había más allá de las cubiertas. Nadando entre cera, cinta, ecos y claves; el pequeño Javi se transformó en “El Javier_B y su RaspaDub”, una mezcla ácida de cumbia y vinilo.

After spending countless hours down in the catacombs of Radio Worm listening to the Misfits, Dorindo Cárdenas and Chúpame el Dedo; little Javi decided to chew a lysergic güira trip to explore what was beyond the decks. Swimming through wax, tape, echoes and keys; little Javi morphed into “El Javier_B y su RaspaDub” - an acid melange of cumbia and vinyl.

Orgullosamente diseñado e impreso en Hamburgo: ¡Cumbia Prints está de regreso en Róterdam con un nuevo lote de camisetas! Pedro y Lucía creen en hacer estampados bacanos que perduren en el tiempo y sean parte de tu FIESTA. Sus camisetas son estampadas a mano y se inspiran en iconografías europeas relacionadas con el satanismo clásico, al tiempo que las mezclan con los colores brillantes y la energía latinoamericana.

Their shirts are handprinted and are inspired by European iconographies related to classic Satanism, while mixing them with the bright colours and energy of Latin America.

El Doctor será tu anfitrión durante la noche y te guiará a través de todos los retorcidos experimentos que tendrán lugar.
