EN | The CINEMA COLOMBIANO FILM FESTIVAL returns on the 24th and 25th of September 2022! It will take place at WORM Rotterdam (on Saturday) and at Filmhuis CAVIA in Amsterdam (on Sunday), each day with a distinct program filled with Colombian music, food (empanadas!) and of course films that have never been shown in The Netherlands before. This year we investigate the recursive way in which cinema is made in Colombia, through documentaries on Jairo Pinilla (director of the first horror film in Colombia!) as well as Víctor González Urrutia. We'll screen some of their films as well. Likewise, we explore the way in which Colombian filmmakers produce analog cinema inside and outside the country, with works by Ana Bravo Pérez and Camilo Restrepo. We will have the feminist views of Ana María Millán, whose work Los Efectos Especiales de Jairo Pinilla will be exhibited at WORM ánd Cavia, and we'll have the Dutch premiere of Cada Vez Que Muero by the Red Comunitaria Trans from Bogotá.
The ancestral resistance will be present with Bakaçxtepkaçx (including a Q&A with protagonist Daniel Álvarez!) and Truambi by the filmmaker Mileidy Orozco Domicó (Keratuma) from the indigenous embera eyabida.
Expect plenty of music in our program as well, starting with the film Del Palenque de San Basilio from directors Esperanza Bioho Perea and Erwin Goggel (cinematographer of La Vendedora de Rosas a.o.) on Saturday. The film brings together several of the most legendary musicians and offers an important view on San Basilio de Palenque, the first free town in America!
Saturday night will continue at WORM with an afterparty featuring El Satánico Cumbión, Duckfood and Edgar Nevermoo and on Sunday the drums of the Batuta will revive us at Cavia!

ES | La séptima edición de Cinema Colombiano trae una selección de películas nunca antes presentadas en los Países Bajos. Habrá música, deliciosas empanadas y más! Reserva las fechas del 24 de septiembre para pillarnos en WORM, Róterdam, y el 25 de septiembre en Filmhuis Cavia, Ámsterdam! Este año indagamos en la manera recursiva con que se hace cine en Colombia, a través de documentales sobre Jairo Pinilla y Víctor González Urrutia, así como sus propios trabajos. Igualmente, exploramos la manera en que cineastas locales producen cine análogo dentro y fuera del país, con trabajos de Ana Bravo Pérez y Camilo Restrepo. Tendremos las miradas feministas de Ana María Millán, cuya obra Los efectos especiales de Jairo Pinilla estará expuesta en WORM y en Cavia, y de la Red Comunitaria Trans en el film Cada vez que muero de Raúl Vidales.
La resistencia ancestral estará presente con Bakaçxtepkaçx, que contará con la presencia de su protagonista Daniel Álvarez para un conversatorio, y Truambi de la realizadora Embera Eyabida: Mileidy Orozco Domicó (Keratuma).
Y por supuesto la música no podría faltar en nuestro programa! El sábado cerraremos con la película de Erwin Goggel y Esperanza Bioho Del Palenque de San Basilio, que reúne a varios de los músicos más legendarios y parte importante de la cosmovisión de San Basilio de Palenque el primer pueblo libre de América! Seguido DJ sets durante que nos pondrán a mover el esqueleto con rítmos tropicales, y el domingo en Cavia los tambores de la Batuta nos revivirán!

NL | De zevende editie van filmfestival CINEMA COLOMBIANO vindt plaats op 24 en 25 september 2022! Deze keer met een programma verspreid over twee locaties: op zaterdag in WORM Rotterdam, inclusief afterparty, en op zondag in Filmhuis CAVIA in Amsterdam. Elke dag heeft een uniek programma gevuld met Colombiaanse muziek, empanadas en natuurlijk films die nog niet eerder vertoond zijn in Nederland. We vertonen o.a. twee documentaires over regisseur Jairo Pinilla (die in de jaren 70 de eerste horrorfilm van Colombia maakte) en Victor González Urrutia, die beiden op DIY wijze meerdere films uitbrachten. We zullen ook enkele van hun films vertonen. Daarnaast kijken we naar Colombiaanse filmmakers die buiten de landgrenzen analoge filmtechnieken gebruiken, met werk van Ana Bravo Pérez en Camilo Restrepo. Een feministische blik biedt Ana María Millán, van wie we Los Efectos Especiales de Jairo Pinilla laten zien in WORM én Cavia, en we hebben de Nederlandse premiere van Cada Vez Que Muero van de Red Comunitaria Trans uit Bogotá.
Het ancestrale verzet is zichtbaar met Bakaçxtepkaçx (inclusief een Q&A met hoofdpersoon Daniel Álvarez!) en Truambi van filmmaker Mileidy Orozco Domicó (Keratuma) van de inheemse embera eyabida-groep.
Daarnaast is er veel ruimte voor muziek, met de film Del Palenque de San Basilio van regisseurs Esperanza Bioho Perea en Erwin Goggel (cinematograaf van o.a. La Vendedora de Rosas) op zaterdag. In de film komen meerdere legendarische muzikanten voor en het biedt een belangrijke blik op San Basilio de Palenque, het eerste vrije dorp in Amerika!
Zaterdagnacht hebben we in WORM een afterparty met tropische klanken (volledige informatie volgt spoedig) en op zondag zullen de trommels van de Batuta ons opnieuw tot leven wekken in Cavia!
